About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Upland, CA

Details

• In-Person Tutoring in Upland, CA
• 24 hours a month, 4 sessions a week for 1.5 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35
  
  

Ideal Candidate

• Valid teaching credential required (Single Subject or Multiple Subject preferred)
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Experience working with high school students with autism and executive functioning challenges
• Strong academic background in Algebra 1, English, Biology, and Spanish 1
• Skilled in providing homework support across multiple subjects
• Experience supporting executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, and task completion
• Ability to create structured, focused, and motivating learning environments
• Patient, calm, and engaging, with the ability to redirect attention and maintain focus
• Comfortable conducting an academic assessment if needed
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide homework support across core subjects, including Algebra 1, English, Biology, and Spanish 1
• Prioritize assignment completion and improving academic performance and grades
• Break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps for better understanding
• Support development of executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, and time management
• Implement structured sessions with clear goals and routines to improve focus and productivity
• Provide strategies to reduce distractions and increase independent work completion
• Reinforce understanding of key academic concepts as needed
• Incorporate student interests (e.g., Roblox, Minecraft, VR) to increase engagement and motivation
• Maintain a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment
• Communicate progress with caregivers and adjust strategies as needed
