Academic & Fine Motor Tutor - 1st Grade, Bilingual (Arabic/English Preferred)

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Lawndale, CA

Details

• In-Person Tutoring in Lawndale, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours a month; 2 sessions a week (tutoring hours TBD)
• Pay rate between $25 and $35 per hour
  
  

Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with young learners on the autism spectrum or in special education.
• Knowledge of foundational literacy, early math, and fine motor skill development.
• Bilingual in Arabic and English (preferred but not required).
• Ability to create engaging, individualized lesson plans.
• Strong patience, communication, and collaboration skills.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Literacy & Writing:
• Support the development of foundational reading skills, including letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and sight words.
• Provide guided practice in early writing skills, including letter formation and basic sentence construction.
• Use hands-on and multisensory approaches to reinforce literacy concepts.
• Math:
• Teach basic math concepts, including counting, number recognition, and early addition/subtraction.
• Use manipulatives, visual aids, and interactive strategies to enhance understanding.
• Fine Motor & Motor Planning:
• Incorporate exercises and activities to strengthen pencil grip and hand coordination.
• Provide strategies and tools to support handwriting and other fine motor tasks.
• Behavior & Engagement:
• Create a structured, supportive, and motivating learning environment.
• Adapt lessons to meet the student’s communication and learning style.
• Use positive reinforcement and clear guidance to encourage participation and focus.
