Job Summary:
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Math Tutor to join our team! As a Tutor, you will assist students individually and possibly in small groups, helping them understand educational concepts, complete assignments, and prepare for tests. Your goal is to help students to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is reliable, understanding, and has a passion for education!

Tutoring not only helps the students you work with, it helps you get a deeper understanding of the material, it looks great on a resume and it is very rewarding when your students achieve the results they want.

Responsibilities:

• Help a student learn Math 140, 141 and 230 at Penn State
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Offer guidance and support to help students improve their test-taking skills
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in higher education teaching or tutoring is preferred
• Strong knowledge and expertise in the subjects mentioned above, receiving an A in the class
• GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
• Patience and the ability to motivate students to achieve their academic goals
