SAT/ACT Test Prep Tutor (Small Group Instruction)
Army and Navy Academy – Carlsbad, CA | Evening Hours (After 7pm)
We’re seeking an experienced and engaging SAT/ACT Test Prep Tutor to lead small group tutoring sessions at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad.
This is an in-person position with sessions held after 7pm, ideal for educators or tutors who enjoy working with motivated high school students and have a strong command of standardized test content and strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Lead small group tutoring sessions focused on SAT and ACT preparation
- Teach test-taking strategies, time management, and problem-solving approaches
- Review key content areas in math, reading, writing, and language
- Adapt instruction to meet students’ needs and track their progress
- Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that builds student confidence
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of SAT and ACT content and question formats
- Experience teaching or tutoring high school students in test prep preferred
- Confident classroom presence and excellent communication skills
- Reliable, professional, and organized
- Availability for evening sessions (after 7pm) at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
- Prior SAT/ACT tutoring experience required
- Ability to motivate and engage small groups of students
- Strong math and verbal reasoning skills
