We are seeking an experienced middle school and high school math tutor to work one-to-one with students in their homes or at local libraries throughout Marin County. This is an in-person, after-school tutoring position for educators who enjoy building relationships with students and helping them gain confidence in math.
This role is ideal for teachers, tutors, or educators looking for flexible, part-time work with consistent students and strong administrative support.
Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one math tutoring for middle school and high school students
Support coursework including pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and higher-level math as needed
Help students build strong problem-solving skills, confidence, and academic habits
Communicate clearly with students and families about progress and goals
Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to engage students in learning
Tutor students after school hours, primarily weekdays
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of math tutoring or teaching experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
Strong communication skills and a patient, encouraging teaching style
Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally within Marin County
Ability to engage and motivate middle school and high school students
Dependable, professional, and organized
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching credential and/or Master’s degree in education
Experience working in after-school programs, tutoring centers, or private tutoring
Familiarity with California math curriculum standards
