We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Special Education Tutor to support K-8 students with learning differences, including students on the Autism Spectrum, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning challenges.
This is an in-person role providing individualized academic support in students’ homes or community settings. The ideal candidate has experience adapting instruction to meet diverse needs and a genuine passion for helping every student thrive.
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one academic tutoring and learning support for K-8 students
Adapt lessons and materials for different learning styles and needs
Support students in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skills
Create a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment
Collaborate with families and our office team to ensure consistent progress via session reports
Qualifications
Experience working with students with learning differences or disabilities (required)
Background in special education, psychology, or child development preferred
Familiarity with strategies for supporting students with ASD, ADHD, and dyslexia
Reliable transportation for in-home sessions in Carlsbad, Oceanside, and surrounding areas
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
Available during after school (3-6pm)
