Role Description:
The Assistant Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Galesburg, IL. This role supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily clinical operations, including supervision of nursing staff, coordination of resident care, and implementation of policies and procedures. The Assistant Director of Nursing helps monitor clinical quality indicators, participates in care plan meetings, and ensures documentation is accurate and timely. Daily responsibilities include rounding on units, coaching team members, assisting with staffing and scheduling, and promoting best practices in infection prevention and resident safety. The role also involves collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, supporting regulatory compliance, and participating in staff education and performance improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to apply evidence-based practices in a long-term and post-acute care setting.
- Demonstrated Nursing Management experience, including staff supervision, coaching, and supporting efficient, resident-centered workflows.
- Knowledge and application of Infection Control principles, including monitoring, prevention, and staff education on infection prevention protocols.
- Experience in Long-term Care, with a clear understanding of regulatory requirements, care planning, and the unique needs of residents and families.
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois (or eligibility to obtain), with prior leadership experience in a skilled nursing or similar setting preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust with residents, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- CPR/BLS certification required; additional certifications in gerontology, rehabilitation, or wound care are a plus.
