Job Summary
The Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives and Grant Management serves by supporting the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). This administration of the HRSA Centers of Excellence (COE) grants support in coordination, and oversight of strategic initiatives, special projects, and goals of the CVM. The Executive Director ensures compliance and works collaboratively with the Dean across departments to implement strategic initiatives and manage special projects.

Essential Job Duties
  • Develop and enhance systems for tracking project outcomes and impact to improve grant management efficiency
  • Support faculty and staff in identification of funding opportunities, proposal development, budget creation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with TUCVM internal and Office of Sponsored Programs and Finance on grants and projects related expenses and budgets.
  • Serve as point of contact for resolving post-award issues and discrepancies.
  • Support interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships tied to funded projects.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that support the strategic goals of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), including program development and community outreach.
  • Develop and manage internal improvement projects such as workflow optimization and faculty/staff development programs.
  • Assist the Dean with implementing strategic projects and initiatives such as accreditation preparation, programming, and building human capacity.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
  • Master’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field; equivalent education and professional experiences may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations and grants in higher education.
  • Demonstrated expertise in federal grant administration and implementation.
  • Experience managing multi-year grants

Physical Demands
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to walk short distances
  • Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
  • Ability to view a computer terminal

Skills and Attributes
Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in grant writing and budget analysis.
  • Familiarity with research administration systems and databases.
Skills:
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability:
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
