Assistant/Associate Professor/ PIE Liaison (non-tenure track)
Job Summary
This position involves coordinating with agency partners, supervising student placements, assisting with the development of practicum policies, and ensuring compliance with CSWE accreditation standards. The role also includes teaching undergraduate or graduate-level courses, advising students, and contributing to curriculum development. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational skill, a commitment to social work education, and the ability to foster collaborative community partnerships.
Essential Job Duties
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the practicum and internship placement process for BSW and MSW students in alignment with CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS).
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Department and community-based agencies, field instructors, and other university departments.
- Conduct site visits, evaluate field placements, and ensure quality learning experiences that support student professional development.
- Provide practicum and internship orientation sessions, training workshops, and ongoing support for students and field supervisors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student placements, evaluations, and agency agreements.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to integrate field education with the academic curriculum and assist in program assessment activities.
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in social work and advise students on academic and professional development.
- Participate in departmental meetings, faculty governance, curriculum development, accreditation reporting, and service activities.
Engage in scholarly research, professional development, and service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program is required
- a Doctorate in Social Work, or a closely related field preferred
- licensed I-MSW/LICSW is strongly preferred.
A minimum of four (4) years of post-MSW practice experience in social work and 3 years higher education teaching and/or field education experience at BSW or MSW levels.

Ability to work in a hybrid environment, which may include on-campus duties, remote instruction, and virtual supervision responsibilities.
