What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Technology Specialist position at Tuscumbia City?
Reports To: Director of Technology and Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Salary: Based on salary schedule for 207 days.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution preferred.
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate preferred.
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience preferred.
- Must complete a criminal background check through the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) at your own expense.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists administration in initiating, developing, and implementing school technology programs and plans.
- Trains and supports classroom teachers in their technology based school and classroom activities. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods as related to technology integration.
- Assists in the selection and acquisition of appropriate technology tools to support the instructional programs of the school.
- Supports and assists the System Testing Coordinator with the district standardized testing program.
- Assists in overseeing and managing the professional development (PD) platform.
- Assists in the implementation and integration of technology to support MTSS as required by the ALSDE.
- Assists the administration and teachers with the identification, completion, and submission of appropriate technology grants for the school.
- Supports students and staff in preparation and participation in technology competitions at the local and state levels.
- Supports a program of instruction following the Alabama State Course of Study for Technology that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Uses a variety of techniques and exhibits a knowledge of the subject matter.
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the system's instructional goals and objectives. Researches, develops, and implements innovative technology-based programs and activities for the district.
- Supports and encourages the utilization of appropriate on-line instructional activities for students and staff. Assist with minor hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Assist I-Peeps at all Tuscumbia City Schools.
- Assist with the development of the schools and district website and apps.
- Attend Professional Development.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
