Co-Gen Technician - TS Resort Facilities

Starting Pay Range: $30.00 - $37.50 hourly

Sunrise shift available

Rotating Schedule - 6p-6a

The Mechanical Systems Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our water systems, including but not limited to Steam, HVAC, Cooling Towers/Chillers, and Boilers. Also responsible for ensuring that machinery and mechanical equipment operate efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance. Some electrical experience is required and must be comfortable handling different types of chemicals.

What does a Mechanical Systems Technician do?

• Consistently samples boiler water and performs analyses for chemical and mechanical water treatment in order to maintain established parameters.
• Monitors operation of steam distribution and condensate collection equipment.
• Monitors the operation of the Chilled Water system for maximum efficiency.
• Operates natural gas fired turbine, heat recovery steam generator, gas fired boilers, steam fired absorption chillers, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers and associated pumps and equipment.
• Able to safely operate electrical switchgears, including main substation.
• Adjust equipment to maintain efficiency of boilers, chillers, and associated power plant equipment.
• Effectively operate the computer terminal to interface with energy management system components.

To be successful as a Mechanical Systems Technician, you'll need:

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma is required.
• Associates in related field preferred.
• A minimum of 3-5 years related experience required.
• A NIULPE class 3 certification or equivalent experience is required.
• Must possess valid NYS driver’s license.
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
