What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Equine Veterinary Assistant position at Turning Point Vet?
Turning Point Vet is a growing mobile acupuncture and chiropractic practice servicing central Ohio. The practice services about 80% equine patients, 15% dogs/cats, and 5% bovine and swine. The position can be part-time, but has the ability for full-time for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone to help with all aspects of the care process. A strong customer service basis is needed and experience with horses will be helpful. Daily duties would include office work while driving between appointments. In addition, during appointments, applicants will be expected to help with record keeping, billing, managing social media accounts, answering phones and making appointments.
Responsibilities
- Occasional horses for acupuncture/chiropractic treatments
- Driving between appointments
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments or handling payments
- Keep accurate records and logs
- Managing social media accounts and taking photos during appointments
- Helping plan and host client educational events
Skills
- Experience with horses and other large animals
- Experience in an administrative role
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and caring personality
- Ability to take initiative and find ways to make the day more efficient
- Comfortable being around animals (Equine, Bovine, Swine, Dogs, Cats etc.)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g. lift up to 40 lbs)
- Good knowledge of the central Ohio geographical area
- High school diploma; valid drivers license and proof of car insurance, COVID vaccinated
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Currently we request employees be COVID vaccinated. When going in to homes for dog/cat owners masks will be warn by staff. Masks will not be required at barn.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Columbus, OH: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Equine experience: 3 years (Preferred)
