Turning Point Life Care Planning is a nationally recognized healthcare consulting firm specializing in Life Care Planning for individuals with catastrophic injuries.

Our interdisciplinary team works with physicians, occupational therapists, nurses, and other healthcare experts to develop comprehensive, evidence-based reports used in complex litigation throughout the United States.

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional to support our clinical experts through medical research, physician consultation coordination, and case management.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a medical office background who enjoys research, organization, and working behind the scenes to keep complex projects moving forward.

Responsibilities Vendor Research

Working under the direction of our medical legal & operations lead and clinical experts, you will:

  • Research medications, durable medical equipment (DME), therapies, home care services, and other healthcare resources.
  • Contact healthcare vendors nationwide to obtain pricing, product information, and service availability.
  • Research pharmacy pricing using resources such as GoodRx and other healthcare pricing databases.
  • Enter research findings accurately into Microsoft Word and Excel documents.
  • Maintain organized documentation to support our experts' report preparation.
  • Ensure all research is complete, accurate, and consistent with expert instructions.

Expert Consultation Coordination

  • Work directly with our clinical experts to coordinate physician consultations.
  • Contact physician offices via fax or telephone to schedule consultation appointments.
  • Track consultation timelines, appointments, and follow-up activities to ensure case deadlines are met.
  • Communicate professionally with physician offices regarding scheduling and consultation logistics.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of consultation status across multiple active cases.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare professional correspondence and consultation requests.
  • Organize electronic case files and supporting documentation.
  • Prioritize multiple active cases while meeting deadlines.
  • Assist with workflow management and other administrative projects as assigned.
  • Contribute ideas that improve efficiency and office processes.

QualificationsRequired

  • Certificate, diploma, or associate degree in Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Health Information Technology, Medical Billing & Coding, or another healthcare-related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a physician office, rehabilitation clinic, hospital, specialty medical practice, or similar healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Comfortable learning cloud-based software platforms, including Filevine and RingCentral.

Preferred

Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
  • Orthopedics
  • Pain Management
  • Neurology
  • Rehabilitation Hospitals
  • Workers' Compensation
  • Personal Injury
  • Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
  • Physician Referral Coordination
