POSITION SUMMARY:

Turning Point Center of Chittenden County is seeking a creative and dynamic self-starter for the Communications & Marketing Coordinator position. This person plays a vital role in advancing the center’s mission by executing a multi-platform communications and marketing strategy that amplifies recovery stories, strengthens community connections, and drives public awareness.


Reporting to the Development Manager, this position ensures consistent, mission-aligned messaging across all channels which supports fundraising, advocacy, and volunteer engagement efforts.

The ideal candidate brings creativity, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative spirit to this role. They are confident managing recurring communications responsibilities, producing compelling content, and helping bring the transformative stories of recovery to life.

Turning Point Center of Chittenden County is Vermont's largest peer-led recovery center. The center is known as a welcoming hub where individuals and families impacted by substance use find hope, connection, and a path forward. We provide free, compassionate support grounded in lived experience while serving our community through more than 24,000 visits each year. At Turning Point, recovery is not just possible, it is happening every day.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications & Content Creation

· Create graphics, short-form videos, and written content for social media, newsletters, and the website aligned with TPCCC's brand and recovery-centered language

· Manage the monthly communications calendar and schedule content through Meta Business Suite

· Monitor social media channels, respond to routine inquiries, and escalate as needed

· Gather stories, quotes, and photos from staff; format and distribute email newsletters; maintain digital asset libraries


Website Management

· Keep website content current across staff pages, programs, events, and the organization calendar

· Publish content regularly and conduct periodic audits for accuracy and relevance


Event Communications

· Create promotional materials and social media campaigns for events with pre-, during-, and post-event coverage

· Provide on-site support for signature events Stand Up for Recovery and Raving for Recovery


Administrative & Organizational Support

· Maintain shared communications folders and digital assets

· Assist with donor acknowledgements, appeal letters, and impact reports

· Support improvement of internal communications systems and processes


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Required:

· Lived experience of understanding the challenges of substance abuse disorder. Through one's own journey to recovery or through walking alongside a loved one.

· Demonstrated experience in social media management, communications, or digital marketing including content creation across multiple platforms

· Excellent written communication skills, with a compassionate, person-centered voice that reflects the dignity and strength of the recovery community

· Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously

· Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, mission-driven team

· Proficiency in Canva or similar graphic design tools, with an eye for visually compelling, on-brand content

· Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, or similar)


Preferred:

· Experience with CRM platforms or email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact),

· Experience with Meta Business Suite or social media scheduling tools


PAY RANGE

$23.00 to $27.00 per hour, compensation commensurate with experience.
