Behavior Technician – School Schedule | No Evenings or Weekends
Start Date: August 31, 2026
Location: Buffalo and surrounding Western New York school districts
Turning Point Behavioral Services is seeking a Behavior Technician to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
If you enjoy working with children but are looking for a position that offers a predictable daytime schedule and a healthy work-life balance, this may be an excellent opportunity. Most services are provided directly within local school districts, with hours that generally follow the school calendar.
No evening hours. No weekend hours.
About the Position
Behavior Technicians work under the direction and supervision of a Behavior Analyst to provide individualized behavioral and educational support to students.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-to-one or small-group support to students
- Implementing individualized behavioral and educational programs
- Supporting the development of communication, social, academic, behavioral, and independence skills
- Implementing reinforcement and other Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies
- Collecting accurate behavioral and skill-acquisition data
- Assisting with the implementation of behavior support plans
- Collaborating with Behavior Analysts, teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals
- Participating in ongoing training and supervision
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, flexible, and resourceful and who enjoys being part of a collaborative school team.
Prior experience in Applied Behavior Analysis is helpful, but several years of ABA experience are not required. Candidates with experience working with children in educational, behavioral, childcare, human services, or related settings are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or higher
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental or behavioral needs preferred
- ABA experience is beneficial but not required
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred, or willingness to pursue RBT certification
- Willingness to participate in training and ongoing supervision
- Ability to follow individualized behavioral and educational programs
- Ability to collect and record data accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
