Job Summary: The Conveyor System Technician is a service provider position, working in the belt shop and in the field at customer locations with responsibilities to install, service, and repair conveyor products.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Display a sense of urgency and adhere to a culture of quality, safety, and adherence to company core values.
- Maintain a record of proper attendance, performance, and the timely completion of all required duties.
- Have proper and legal driving license records that are sufficient to be insurable by the company insurance carrier and be capable of driving service trucks up to GVW.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure along with the ability to read and understand measuring devices.
- Must be able to obtain TWIC card and all other safety certifications or clearances as required by Turner Supply customers.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding and lift and move up to 75 lbs.
- Must be available to work after hours, weekends, and holidays and be responsive to after hour, weekend, and holiday emergency calls.
- Must be able to work independently or with little supervision in the shop or on job sites.
- Must follow process and procedures as instructed for conveyor belt installation, splicing, and safety procedures.

- Must be available for work 24/7 – on-call as needed
- Basic math proficiency
- Must be able to work proficiently under minimal supervision
Experience
- Must have the capacity to learn (within one year after hire):
- Installation of conveyor belts on customers systems
- Prepare and complete vulcanized splices on heavy rubber belts, lightweight conveyor belts and monofilament belts
- Properly select and install mechanical fasteners
- Properly install belt cleaning products
- Operation of Hand/ Power Tools
- Burning torches and welding equipment
Education
- High School Diploma or Certified Equivalent
- Certificate from a Technical or Vocational Program Strongly Desired
Travel: This is an on-call position and may require overnight trips to various customers for belt installations.
Work Environment: The work environment will vary based on the job, the location, the customer and the weather. The work environment will include, but will not be limited to, outdoor field work on customer sites and indoor plant environments, and indoor company-based shop work. Outside conditions will vary depending on the weather.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The conveyor system technician has a verified number of physical demands. While working in the warehouse or assisting with an outside customer calls this function may be required to be in outside weather elements – rain, heat, snow, etc. The conveyor system technician is required to lift heavy products or operate industrial equipment. This employee should be able to lift 75 lbs. regularly, should be able to climb a ladder/ stair and should be able to demonstrate/use any product or equipment that Turner Supply Company sells.
