Overview
We are seeking an experienced nursery supervisor. In this role, you
will be responsible for overseeing crews, plant health and inventory. You will also be
required to grow and maintain, trees, shrubs to a high standard.
To ensure success as a nursery manager, you should have in-depth knowledge of horticulture,
excellent managerial skills, and a passion for growing plants. Ultimately, a top-class Nursery
supervisor should be able to assist in maintaining a healthy, efficient and profitable nursery.
Nursery Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and improving the daily functions of the nursery..
- Working alongside the Head Grower to ensure task are prioritized and finished timely.
- Managing inventory of plant stock..
- Assisting in chemical applications and record keeping.
- Monitoring watering times, soil conditions, and plant positions.
- Monitoring weather conditions and paying special attention to hot or cold temperatures.
- Ensure pruning schedules and weeding schedules are kept.
- Assisting in propagation of plant material.
- Assist in pulling orders and checking quality.
- Lead potting (planting) crews.
Nursery Supervisor Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- 3 Years’ experience working in the nursery industry.(Management experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and managerial skills.
- Professional and friendly demeanor.
- Detailed knowledge of plant production, soil, fertilizers, and growing techniques.
- Ability to communicate with Spanish speaking workforce to achieve task.
- Responsible and punctual.
- Hardworking and driven attitude.
- Ability to drive heavy machinery such as tractors and skid steers.
- Ability to lift 50lbs over your shoulder
- Basic Computer skills such as excel.
- Enjoy working outdoors.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
