What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Hygienist Technician position at Turner Mining Group?
Turner Staffing Group is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician I to support our mining client in the Elko area. This is a planned 6-month project-based assignment working four 10-hour days each week. The Industrial Hygiene Technician will assist with workplace exposure monitoring, industrial hygiene sampling, equipment calibration, data management, and regulatory compliance while promoting a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct industrial hygiene sampling for noise, dust, gases, and other workplace exposure agents.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain industrial hygiene sampling equipment.
- Perform pre- and post-calibration of monitoring equipment while maintaining calibration records.
- Utilize dosimeter software to configure and calibrate noise monitoring equipment.
- Enter and maintain sampling data within Cority and other required databases.
- Upload laboratory requisitions, exposure results, and related documentation accurately.
- Coordinate sampling schedules and communicate with site personnel regarding monitoring activities.
- Manage inventory of sampling media, equipment, and supplies.
- Support gas detection systems, monitor equipment inventory, and maintain operational readiness.
- Assist with field exposure monitoring and industrial hygiene projects.
- Participate in safety meetings and support site safety initiatives.
- Identify unsafe conditions and communicate concerns to supervision.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, MSHA requirements, and occupational health and safety standards.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in mining, industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety, environmental health, or a related field.
- Familiarity with industrial hygiene sampling equipment and exposure monitoring.
- Experience with Cority or similar EHS management systems.
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations and occupational health best practices.
Schedule
- Monday through Thursday
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- Planned 6-month assignment
