What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Turner Industries?
Turner Industries Group is looking for a Estimator to join our Estimating team at our Pipe Fabrication Facility in Port Allen, LA. This position will be responsible for:
- Coordinating proposal documents, specifications, drawings, and related information
- Generating material and labor take off based on client drawings, specifications, and/or bills of quantity
- Computing pricing based on developed take-offs and client data; develops technical and commercial responses to include in proposals in conjunction with QA/QC and contracts department
- Continuing coordination efforts with projects and/or sales groups until project is awarded;
- Acting as a liaison with Contracts department regarding relevant bid/award documentation;
- Attending "kick-off" meetings internally and with client if necessary for awarded projects;
- Performing additional assignments as required;
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Qualifications:
- Preferably 2 years of experience or equivalent combinations of experience, training, and/or education in specified skill
- Excellent analytical and technical skills required in facilitating the execution of projects based on preliminary information only
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills
- Must be self-directed and detail oriented
- Proficient in MS Excel
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen
- "Personal Protective Equipment" (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.) required when in shop/yard areas.
