Service Technician

Position Overview

Turner Imaging Systems Inc. delivers innovative medical imaging solutions that improve patient outcomes, expand access, and drive efficiency. Our battery-powered SMART‑C® and ENDURO DR® systems lead the portable imaging market, providing exceptional flexibility and mobility to healthcare providers worldwide.

The Service Technician works closely with the Customer Care and Engineering teams to ensure service and repairs are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Technicians are expected to identify and communicate potential trends or recurring issues observed during service and repair activities so they can be evaluated by the broader team. The team is relatively small, which in turn provides employees with increased visibility, responsibility, and opportunities to expand their technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete evaluations and repairs following established operating procedures, work instructions, and quality system requirements (ISO 13485).
• Perform detailed inspections of equipment requiring repair, documenting functional and cosmetic issues.
• Use documented repair notes to reproduce reported failures and identify the affected component(s) and/or software.
• Complete repairs accurately and perform required conformance testing.
• Complete all required service/repair documentation accurately and on time.
• Work closely with technical support to provide training and answer customer questions, including occasional calls or virtual meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service work area.
• Perform other service-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of work experience or equivalent (relevant coursework, internships, or lab) experience as a service technician, repair technician, or equipment maintenance technician.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills, including:
• Accurate and efficient typing skills
• Comfortable with learning multiple software programs
• Ability to communicate professionally with both internal and external customers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates or certification in a technical or electro-mechanical field 
• Experience building or repairing electro-mechanical equipment.
• Prior experience working in a regulated or quality-controlled environment (medical device preferred).
• Familiarity with service documentation and repair tracking systems.
