The Banquet Houseman is a person employed for cleaning, maintenance, room setup and other general work outside and inside of the The Pirates' House in order to keep the property presentable and running smoothly. Specific duties and skills may vary depending on what is going on at the restaurant that day or week.
As part of the house staff, a houseman must be detail-oriented, have good customer service skills, be able to lift heavy items and understand cleaning basics.
Job Description:
- Setting up and breaking down banquet events to include weddings, civic groups, corporate events, etc.
- Responsible for overseeing the care and upkeep of carpet, floors, walls, windows within the restaurant
- Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors using appropriate cleaning supplies
- Dusts rooms and furniture
- Performs additional duties as assigned
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, stock, and maintain banquet rooms
- Refresh banquet rooms in between meals
- Complete final breakdown of banquet room
- Clean and return equipment to proper location
- Must be able to follow instructions on the Function Sheet
- Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift
- Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 50lbs. without assistance
- Must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
