Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for retail sales transactions and cash handling
- Assist customers with product information, including conducting product demos and upselling when appropriate
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Handle cashier duties such as cash register operations, cash drawer handling, and balancing registers at shift end
- Maintain knowledge of store products to answer customer questions confidently and accurately
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging displays and ensuring inventory levels are maintained
- Provide bilingual assistance to accommodate a diverse customer base if applicable
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking supplies and conducting stock counts
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially within grocery or similar retail environments
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math calculations necessary for daily transactions
- Experience in product demos, upselling techniques, and merchandising strategies highly valued
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail store product knowledge enhances performance in this role
- Previous experience with cashiering, cash handling, and maintaining a cash drawer is essential for accuracy and accountability
