Position Overview
The RN Utilization Manager supports patient-centered care by coordinating services, reviewing medical needs, and ensuring appropriate utilization of healthcare resources. This role works closely with providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams while maintaining compliance with clinical standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and review medical histories

Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans

Coordinate and manage utilization of healthcare services

Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff

Ensure accurate, timely documentation

Transcribe and carry out provider orders per policy

Administer medications and monitor patient responses

Support training and orientation of new staff

Maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards

Perform additional duties within scope of practice as assigned
Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license

Current CPR certification

Ability to pass a background check

Correctional or similar healthcare experience preferred
