Position Overview
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering nursing care in an assigned area based on individualized patient needs. This role performs both dependent and independent nursing functions in accordance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards within the scope of practical nursing.
The LPN works under the direction and delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN) while supporting the overall healthcare operations within the facility.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care within the scope of LVN/LPN practice

Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider

Monitor and document patient health status and medical needs

Assist with intake screenings and medical assessments

Respond to medical concerns and emergencies within the facility

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care

Follow TK Health policies, procedures, and correctional healthcare standards
Qualifications

Current LVN or LPN license in the State of Texas

Current CPR certification

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work in a secure correctional environment

Experience in correctional, emergency, or institutional healthcare preferred but not required
