Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, and general dentistry treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take vital signs and medical history updates to assist with comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions about procedures or treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following dental sterilization procedures and infection control policies aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with valid licensure or registration as required by state or local regulations.
- Proven experience working in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or specialty areas such as endodontics or prosthodontics.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental instruments, equipment operation, and infection control protocols.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical imaging techniques relevant to dental practice.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention standards to ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering outstanding patient care.
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
