As a leading ocean transportation and logistics company we are currently looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Dispatch & Equipment Control Coordinator in Turkon America INC. This role is responsible for overseeing container and equipment logistics, procurement, maintenance coordination, and dispatch operations to support vessel and terminal activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and supplies required for the steamships, including safety gear, machinery, and tools.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, manage inventory, and ensure timely delivery of equipment to vessels.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment, including inspections, repairs, and warranties.
- Monitor equipment condition and performance, scheduling and coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate the efficient movement of equipment, materials, and supplies to and from the vessels.
- Monitor and optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Track and report logistics reports, such as on-time delivery, inventory levels, and cost management.
- Work closely with ship captains, HQ Logistics and Equipment Departments, and other internal departments to understand equipment needs and operational requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to the equipment and logistics team members to achieve departmental goals.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address equipment failures or logistics disruptions in a timely and efficient manner.
- Act as a point of contact in emergency situations to ensure quick resolution and minimal operational downtime.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or transportation industry.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a logistics or supply chain environment.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- SAP system experience is a plus.
