Turf Valley Resort is looking for a Banquet Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
COORDINATION OF INFORMATION
- Work directly with sales department to plan event
- Work directly with hosted event’s contact person
- Provide customer service to event participants
- Answer questions about Turf Valley Resort
- Ensure that events are operating smoothly by communication with the kitchen, banquet staff, media department, vendors (band, DJ) and guests
ADMINISTRATION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement banquet event orders
- Provide a Manager’s report for each scheduled event
- Provide a pre-bill to accounting for each event
- Responsible for end of month inventory
- Order supplies (i.e. linens, plates, silverware)
MAINTAIN BANQUET FACILITY ROOMS
- Supervise the cleaning and sanitation of the banquet facility rooms
- Closing the banquet facility rooms (i.e. locking doors, turning off the heat)
- Maintains the appearance and upkeep of the banquet facilities
- Contact property operations to repair or replace equipment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervising the porters, servers, captains and bartenders
- Hiring porters, servers, captains and bartenders
- Providing employee performance reviews
- Handling disciplinary actions
- Training new employees
- Scheduling employees’ work hours
- Motivating employees
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AS NECESSARY

- Bending and Lifting
- Pushing and Pulling Large Items
- Repetitious Motions
- Standing for 8 Hours
- Hazards Include, but are Not Limited to: Cuts, Slipping, Tripping, Falls and Burns
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 2 years Banquet/Conference Experience, or Restaurant Management Experience
- Experience reading Event Orders
- Experience with various types of functions, room set ups, types of menus, types of bars
