PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The technician will have the ability to set-up, analyze, troubleshoot, test, repair, and rework a variety of complex measurement equipment using principles and knowledge of metrology in accordance with industry standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES…and other duties as assigned:
- Set-up electronic components, subassemblies, assemblies, completed instruments and liquid and gas measurement hardware.
- Perform assembly, rework, testing, and calibration of electronic hardware and liquid and gas measurement equipment.
- Perform calibration, performance checks and repair and maintenance on a wide variety of measurement equipment.
- Program new equipment and assure audit capability through completion and retention of all appropriate records.
- Perform inspections of returned equipment to verify the cause of the malfunction and the recommended repair or repurpose.
- Bench level electronic and electro-mechanical repair tasks using industry standard trouble shooting, repair and soldering skills.
- Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation. Input to database as required.
- Compile and maintain information on instrument’s history, maintenance and uses, as well as maintain repair parts inventory, work performed records, and log book entries.
- Monitor storage areas and stored equipment for good warehousing practices.
- Ensure that all calibration and tests are conducted safely and in compliance with established safety standards.
- Handle all equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and good handling practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess troubleshooting and repair capabilities along with the ability to work on competitor equipment when presented with product information.
- Interest in programming and troubleshooting measurement equipment
- Work according to prescribed procedures and specifications.
- Ability to use a variety of calibration equipment in accordance with QA/QC processes and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain facilities and workspaces environment to adhere to conditions appropriate to an industry leader in metrology.
- Ability to balance quality and on time delivery.
- Continually review all work processes and calibration and test results for accuracy and completeness.
COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS and/or ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:
Knowledge of electrical or electronics, engineering, troubleshooting principles, theories and concepts in accordance with standard company procedures and policies.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- (Preferred) Military (PMEL) Training in electrical or electronic field or other related science with a minimum of 1-3 years of technical experience, or an equivalent combination of Education and practical experience required.
- (Preferred) Three years commercial or military laboratory experience
- Must be able to show a track record of excellent attention to detail
- Technical School Certification a plus (related field)
- High School Diploma
- Technical or Industrial product knowledge a plus
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
- Occasional reaching/working overhead, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
- Lifting requirements include occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 10 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is typically exposed to inside temperatures ranging from 70 to 75 degrees
