This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Designs and analyzes aircraft electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and component structures, systems and processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• The engineer will have a BS in an applicable engineering field.
• At least 5-8 years applicable work experience.
• Developing engineers will be mentored to have the technical background and sufficient knowledge to perform all phases of hardware design, development and documentation.
• Uses computer-aided design (CAD) to produce initial design and specifications for aircraft components.
• Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified aircraft system designs.
• Documents changes through a formal engineering change notification process.
• Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
• Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
• Other job duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 to 8 years of related experience.

• Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, rotating wrist, using tools/equipment).
