Parts Preparation Associate

About the Role:

The Parts Preparation Associate plays a critical role for Turbine Standard in maintaining the efficiency and safety of turbine engines by ensuring that all mechanical parts and components are thoroughly cleaned and free of contaminants. This position involves the meticulous removal of dirt, grease, and other residues from parts to prepare them for inspection, repair, or assembly. This role contributes directly to the longevity and reliability of equipment by preventing malfunctions caused by debris or buildup. Working closely with maintenance and logistics teams, the role supports smooth operational workflows and helps uphold quality standards. Ultimately, this role ensures that all parts meet cleanliness requirements, which is essential for the overall performance and safety of transportation assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle parts of varying sizes and weights.
• Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in transportation, warehousing, or manufacturing environments.
• Certification or training in industrial cleaning or hazardous materials handling.
• Basic mechanical aptitude to understand part functions and assembly.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to waste disposal and chemical use.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or inventory tracking.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and degrease mechanical parts and components using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
• Inspect parts for cleanliness and report any damage or wear to the maintenance team.
• Operate cleaning machinery such as ultrasonic cleaners, parts washers, and pressure washers safely and efficiently.
• Prepare surfaces for reassembly or paint using various media blasting techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Document cleaning activities and maintain records of parts processed and cleaning solutions used.
