Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our long-term care facility team. This position will assist with general facility maintenance, floor care, and transportation of residents to medical appointments.
Duties
- Strip, wax, buff, and maintain facility floors.
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
- Assist with painting, plumbing, carpentry, and other facility projects.
- Keep common areas, equipment, and work areas clean and safe.
- Transport residents safely to and from doctor, therapy, dental, and other approved appointments.
- Assist residents safely in and out of the facility vehicle.
- Maintain required transportation records and vehicle cleanliness.
- Report maintenance, safety, or vehicle concerns promptly.
- Follow all facility safety, infection-control, and resident-care policies.
- Treat residents, families, visitors, and coworkers with dignity and respect.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous maintenance, floor-care, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred.
- Experience stripping and waxing commercial floors is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- Must be dependable, professional, and able to work independently.
- Must be able to stand, bend, lift, push, and pull as required for the position.
