Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Planner/Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials and ensuring that production schedules are met efficiently. You will play a crucial part in supply chain management, collaborating with various departments to optimize inventory levels and streamline procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials management, production planning, and experience with ERP systems.
Duties
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels.
- Utilize SAP and Oracle EBS for effective materials planning and procurement processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials while managing supplier relationships.
- Implement MRP strategies to optimize inventory control and reduce excess stock.
- Monitor inventory levels, conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy in inventory management.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify material needs and resolve any supply chain issues.
- Analyze demand planning data to adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying areas for process improvement within the supply chain.
- Manage contracts related to purchasing and supplier agreements to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Oversee logistics operations related to material handling and warehouse management.
Experience
- Proven experience in materials planning, scheduling, or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP and Oracle EBS.
- Familiarity with procurement processes, supplier management, and contracts.
- Experience in inventory control and demand planning methodologies.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Background in logistics or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
