Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with deep expertise in US payroll to support complex payroll operations, projects, and compliance requirements. This role will act as a subject matter expert on payroll and time systems, ensuring accuracy in payroll processes, tax compliance, and employee-related events. You will collaborate across teams, provide guidance on payroll impacts during organizational changes, and deliver excellent support to employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex US payroll functions, including compliance with tax laws, CBAs, employment contracts, and corporate policies.
- Serve as a Payroll SME on major initiatives (acquisitions, reorganizations, system upgrades, Workday releases).
- Investigate and resolve advanced payroll issues while mentoring payroll team members.
- Partner with tax authorities and third-party providers (ADP) to manage accounts, taxes, garnishments, and reporting.
- Oversee payroll processing for special events (expatriates, cross-border employees, bonuses, relocations, stock options).
- Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and efficiency in all payroll activities.
Must-Have Skills:
- 6 years of progressive US payroll experience in multi-state, union and non-union environments.
- Strong expertise with Workday payroll and ADP (or similar third-party provider).
- In-depth knowledge of US payroll tax compliance, regulations, and cross-border payroll complexities.
