Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install piping systems and plumbing fixtures.
- Install, modify, repair, and maintain pipework for water, gas, steam, and other fluids using various techniques including welding (MIG, FCAW, TIG), soldering, and pipe threading.
- Perform fire sprinkler fitting and ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and rigging equipment to assemble and secure piping components on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections of piping systems for leaks or defects; troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Follow ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels and pipelines during installation and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed using schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance logs.
Experience
- MTA TRACK TRAINING
- MEWP 3A 3B
- Past MTA projects
- Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities working with plumbing or pipefitting projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), with the ability to meet strict quality standards.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems, tube bending, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to pipeline construction and maintenance is highly desirable.
