What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Day Service Staff position at Tuna Lindberg House?
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as staff members in a disabled adult facility. As a staff member, your primary responsibility will be to provide care, support, and assistance to adults with disabilities in a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care Assistance: Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. Provide assistance as needed to ensure their personal hygiene and well-being.
2. Medication Administration: Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and document medication administration accurately. Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or changes in health and report to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
3. Meal Preparation and Assistance: Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks to residents, taking into consideration their dietary restrictions or preferences. Assist residents during mealtimes, ensuring they are able to eat comfortably and safely.
4. Activities and Recreation: Engage residents in various activities to promote physical, mental, and social well-being. Plan and organize recreational programs, outings, and leisure activities that cater to the interests and abilities of the residents.
5. Emotional Support: Foster a supportive and caring environment for residents, providing emotional support and companionship. Listen attentively to their concerns, needs, and preferences, and address them effectively.
6. Safety and Security: Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents by adhering to facility policies and procedures. Monitor residents' activities to prevent accidents, implement emergency procedures when necessary, and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' care, including daily activities, observations, and any significant changes in health or behavior. Complete incident reports as required and participate in team meetings to discuss residents' progress and updates.
8. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with fellow staff members, healthcare professionals, and family members of residents to ensure continuity of care and promote a holistic approach to their well-being. Effective communication with all stakeholders is essential.
9. Medical Appointments: This person will also be the designated staff member to fill in for the medical director when unavailable for appointments. They will drive participants to doctors appointments, document the appointment, and communicate important information to the medical director.
