What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Facilities position at Tulsa Welding School Jacksonville?
Responsibilities:
Plan buildings, grounds, equipment, furniture and facilities maintenance program including deferred maintenance, systemic preventative maintenance, and replacement schedules.
Maintain and report space utilization inventory
Prioritize and schedule maintenance and operations projects
Review plans and specifications and recommend changes as necessary; recommend need for and methods of altering existing facilities
Ensure quality and responsiveness of maintenance and operations activities
Track status or work / project completion and maintenance and operations activities; refine and adjust resource allocation as appropriate to address institutional priorities
Approve work order requests; determine appropriate strategies (in-house -vs- contracting out)
Review equipment and supply needs, budget and purchase as needed.
Maintains department compliance with government accreditation, and other regulatory bodies
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, and first-aid supplies
On-going evaluation of the performance of employees within department
Complete weekly and/or monthly reports as directed
Identify potential problems and solutions through effective analysis of reports
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
