Evening Housekeeping Supervisor

Position Summary

The Evening Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing housekeeping operations during evening shifts to ensure guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas are maintained in accordance with hotel standards. This position provides leadership, while ensuring cleanliness, guest satisfaction, safety, and operational efficiency.

Essential Job Functions

Leadership

• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with hotel standards.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment.
• Address concerns and communicate issues to the Executive Housekeeper.

Housekeeping Operations

• Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and serviced according to hotel and brand standards.
• Oversee evening cleaning of public areas, restrooms, meeting rooms, and employee areas.
• Monitor room status updates and coordinate with the Front Office regarding room availability.
• Ensure proper stocking of housekeeping closets, linen rooms, and supply areas.
• Respond promptly to guest requests for amenities, linens, and housekeeping services.
• Assist with room cleaning and public area maintenance as needed.

Guest Service

• Provide exceptional hospitality and customer service to guests.
• Handle guest concerns, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly.
• Follow up on service recovery opportunities to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain a visible presence throughout the property to support guests and team members.

Inventory & Supplies

• Monitor inventory levels of linens, guest supplies, cleaning chemicals, and equipment.
• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Report supply shortages and equipment needs to the Executive Housekeeper.

Safety & Security

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and hotel policies.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance, safety, or security concerns.
• Report hazards, accidents, damages, and incidents immediately.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals according to Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Maintain key control and security of housekeeping areas and equipment.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Complete daily reports, inspection logs, and shift documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of room inspections, and guest requests
• Communicate effectively with management regarding operational concerns.
• Participate in department meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one to two years of housekeeping experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience in hospitality, housekeeping, required
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel property management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the hotel for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs frequently.
• Ability to operate housekeeping equipment safely.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
