Private practice looking to add an Ophthalmic Technician to our team!
Responsibilites:
- Initial work up of patients such as gathering chief complaint, ocular and systemic history, past family and social history and complete review of systems.
- Diagnostic testing including but not limited to OCT, VF, & Topography
- Measure visual acuity, including near, distance, pinhole, or dynamic visual acuity, using appropriate tests.
- Measure and record lens power, using lensometers.
- Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
- Clean or sterilize ophthalmic or surgical instruments.
- Maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment.
- Prepares necessary paperwork, and detailed documentation.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for the position:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Possess at least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician preferred.
- Must possess some general medical knowledge including diseases and medications that are pertinent to patient care in ophthalmology.
- Great attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA policies and regulations.
- Experience performing OCT & Visual fields.
- Experience with EMR.
