As we navigate a period of expansion and strategic initiatives, we are seeking a Plant Director to join our team and contribute to the company's success.
The Plant Director is responsible for leading operations, including Production, Scheduling, Shipping & Receiving, Quality, Sanitation, and Inventory Management. The position reports to the COO and works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, CI and HR to lead all aspects of plant.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily plant operations to achieve production, quality, and delivery targets.
- Implement best practices for efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, GMP, and company policies.
Scheduling
- Manage production scheduling to optimize customer service and resource utilization.
- Coordinate with supply chain and sales teams to align production with demand forecasts.
Production
- Lead production teams to grow and exceed output, quality, and safety objectives.
- Drive KPI improvements such as yield, throughput, and downtime; implement corrective actions as needed.
Shipping & Receiving (S&R)
- Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations for timely and accurate shipments.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and optimize warehouse operations.
Sanitation
- Oversee sanitation programs to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
- Schedule and monitor cleaning activities to maintain a hygienic environment.
Inventory Management
- Optimize material flow and inventory accuracy through our Ross ERP system.
- Implement systems to reduce waste and improve material flow.
People Management
- Build and mentor a high-performing team across all operational areas.
- Partner with HR on staffing, training, and performance management.
Financial Accountability
- Manage plant budgets and control operational costs.
- Track and improve yield loss and labor productivity
Lead cost saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Prior experience as a Plant Manager or similar role in foods mfg or related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP, GMP).
- Ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees to get results
- Proficiency in ERP systems and lean manufacturing principles.
- Experienced in continuous improvement processes such as TPM or LSS.

Pay: $124,800.00 - $150,800.00 per year
