What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Tulia ISD?
Primary Purpose:
Assist with providing clerical and organizational duties. Handle confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district employees, outside agencies, and the general public. Work under supervision of a district director or campus administration.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient Phone Skills
- Proficient in using a personal computer and software to perform word processing tasks and to develop spreadsheets and databases
- File maintenance skills
- Knowledge of school district organization, operations, and administrative policies
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
- Three years or more of advanced secretarial experience with extensive contact with people
Duties include but are not limited to the following
- Type both short and long-term projects (Short term - memos, letters, forms, and reports. Long term - manuals, handbooks, and in-service materials.)
- Assis in the design/development of the layout for various forms, reports, and professional development guides.
- Edit and proofread all work for accuracy
- Organize assigned work so both short tem and long term procecst are completed when due.
- Proficient use of computer software and proacive acquisition of skills for new technology, i.e. Microsoft Office.
- File correspondence, reports, and other instructional materials.
- Manage budget activities assigned by the Assistant Superintendent, Executive Directors, or Chief Financial Officer.
- Maintain technology, materials, and supplies as assigned.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, including details pertaining to meeting preparation, and prepare potential travel arrangements.
- Report to the supervisor for whom they work.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent, Executive Directors, or Chief Financial Officer.
