The Postdoctoral Fellow primary responsibility will be to conduct research into early molecular mechanisms underlying the development and progression of Alzheimer’s dementia (AD). Projects focused on inflammatory changes in the brain and blood-brain barrier dysfunction will be explored in specimens from human subjects with and without AD, as well as in rhesus macaques, in the context of normal aging and/or infectious disease. The position requires experience and training in performing various molecular biological techniques, including but not limited to total spatial transcriptomics, laser-capture microdissection, DNA/RNA isolation, real-time PCR, RNAseq, cloning, gel-electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation/western blotting, multi-color flow cytometry, histology and immunohistochemistry, and computational data analysis and interpretation.
