DEPARTMENT: Betty J Taylor Early Learning Academy
JOB SUMMARY: Engage children in activities designed to promote social, emotional, physical and developmental growth in preparation to reach School Readiness Goals. Utilize Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies to plan, implement and track the everyday operations of the classroom. Co-Teach the Lushootseed language in the classroom. Work with families to support their child in their educational success. Work with Classroom team to assure that the children are all achieving success in the classroom. Be an active participant in the classroom teaching team. Get direction from the supervising staff on other tasks assigned to you. Complete all required documentation for grants such as EHS, CACFP, and others.
COMPENSATION: $23.25 hr.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
AA = Teacher I
BA = Teacher II
MA= Teacher III
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
One (1) year experience working with children (birth to five) and families in childcare, education, classroom or related field.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray
Pediatric CPR/First Aide Certificate
Food Handlers Permit
Blood Borne Pathogens Certificate
Must abide by departments MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccination policy.
Must pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing job duties.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment and MERIT background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a regular Full-Time position.
