Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on supporting the education and development of employees or students by developing education, curricula, materials, and programs to support educational growth. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Employee Education duties: Develops, implements, and evaluates diversity/equal employment opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action programs to ensure compliance with government legislation and organization goals. Provides training and coaching for employees and managers on diversity issues. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that supervises all levels of employees. Responsibilities that typically include: Setting goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results, problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex, and ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.

Job Overview

Under the direction of the VP of Clinical Operations, this position works collaboratively to assess, identify, plan, implement, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate educational activities for professional and paraprofessional staff. This includes the tools, theories, skills, and knowledge of home-based care to improve healthcare practice in standard and specialty areas. Using expertise in education and professional development practices, this position collaborates with staff, leadership, and Tufts Medicine content experts to implement and evaluate professional development programs that influence professional role competence, continuous learning and growth, promotes synergistic practices and patient outcomes throughout the organization. Oversees HH/HSPC clinical educators and supports HH/HSPC clinical managers, and interprofessional teams to implement, document, and modify evidence-based, quality, and educational programs/activities that promote professional competency and role performance for nursing and non-licensed staff.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's in Nursing or Management

2. Graduate of an accredited school

3. Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Project Management and /or Clinical Informatics and appropriate state board or certifications where services will be provided.

4. Two (2) years of experience in nursing or project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

1.Master Degree

2. Prior experience teaching standards- content and application

3. Prior experience in informatics or clinical systems.

Hours: Full-Time, 40hrs/week.

Location: Lowell, MA

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

1. Develops, coordinates, manages, facilitates, conducts, and evaluates onboarding, orientation, annual competency, and all other competency programs for all healthcare personnel.

2. Responsible for continuing education programs and application of content for continuing education credits through approved associations.

3. Assists in development and maintenance of formal preceptor program with clinical leadership.

4. Responsible for Student Program - works collaboratively with colleges, universities to align students with home care clinical placement and experience.

5. Incorporates diverse learners in planning education to meet gender, race, culture, and generational differences within target audience.

6. Collaborates with support departments including but not limited to quality, clinical leadership, IT, Human Resources and other departments/roles to provide contributions and advancements in decisions regarding education.

7. Applies current standards, guidelines, policies, and regulations into education that is offered.

8. Upholds all health care system/organizational policies and procedures and clinical competencies put forth by this job description and professional association including clinical, legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards.

9. Tracks education hours for regulatory agencies.

10. Develops innovative solutions and strategies to secure appropriate resources and technology for professional development initiatives.

11. Stays current on technology to support teaching and learning (EPIC, Workday, Learning Management Software).

12. Supervises and collaborates with the staff education team to ensure that they demonstrate effective teaching skills, critical thinking, patient first focus, industry best practices and clinical competence.

13. Informatics Development: Develops and manages comprehensive education programs for Epic workflows, documentation standards, clinical practice, onboarding, annual competencies, and ongoing professional development.

14.Leads Epic training strategy for new hires, role changes, system updates, optimization initiatives, go-lives, refresher training, and super user development.

15.Ensures education supports accurate and timely documentation for home health and hospice workflows, including admissions, plans of care, visits, orders, care coordination, quality measures, and discharge processes.

16.Designs, delivers, and evaluates clinical education for nurses, therapists, social workers, aides, chaplains, and interdisciplinary team members in alignment with scope of practice and organizational standards.

17.Partners with clinical leaders to identify competency gaps, performance trends, documentation issues, survey findings, quality opportunities, and training needs.

18.Maintains education materials, lesson plans, job aids, learning modules, competency tools, and communication resources that reflect current workflows, policies, regulations, and best practices.

19.Supports compliance with applicable federal, state, payer, accreditation, and organizational requirements related to staff training, clinical competency, documentation, privacy, and patient safety.

20.Collaborates with information systems, Epic analysts, quality, compliance, operations, and clinical leadership to translate system changes into clear education plans and end-user support.

21.Monitors education effectiveness through competency validation, learner feedback, audits, performance metrics, documentation quality, and clinical outcomes.

22.Provides coaching and support to preceptors, super users, clinical educators, and field staff to promote consistent practice and adoption of standard workflows.

23.Participates in policy review, process improvement, survey readiness, corrective action planning, and change management initiatives.

24.Maintains accurate education records and reporting to demonstrate completion, compliance, and readiness for internal review or external survey.

Physical Requirements:

1. Frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

2. Ability to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.

3. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-25 lbs.

4. Constantly operates a computer and other standard office equipment such as copy machine, phones, photocopier, fax machines and computer printers.

5. Frequently communicates internally and externally; must be able to exchange accurate information via phone, email and/or in person.

6. Specific vision abilities apply including close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

7. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as would be expected in a clerical office setting.

Skills & Abilities:

1. Demonstrates knowledge of concepts of educational needs assessment, planning, curriculum development, training implementation and evaluation.

2. Demonstrates understanding of adult learning concepts.

3. Demonstrates leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.

4. Demonstrates solid clinical proficiency and knowledge to effectively plan and coordinate patient care consistent with applicable laws, standards and regulations.

5. Ability to read, write, and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support learning and holds advanced computer skills.

6. Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills along with customer service skills.

7. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment

8. Possesses excellent time management skills; strong understanding of adult learning theories and can utilize multi-methods to implement training/development.

9. Selects appropriate teaching strategies to facilitate behavioral change.

Pay Range:

$101,084.26 - $128,878.21
