Work Experience
32 hour per week fulltime position, focuses on performing the following duties:
- Performs, prescribes and analyzes results for the treatment of illnesses, diseases, injuries and conditions related to the eye.
- Tasks include vision assessments, eye surgeries and advanced forms of eye disease in patients with significant systemic illness.
- Help support specialized eye examination in pedi patients and strabismus in adults. Also assisting the pediatric opthalmologist with pediatric patients with ocular misalignment.
- Responsible for evaluating and recommending treatment of patients with ocular motility disturbances.
- Assists Opthalmologist in all aspects of patient care including diagnostic testing and preliminary examination.
Work Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a two year Orthoptist or Opthalmic Medical Tech program
- Orthoptist or Opthalmic Medical Tech Certification
- two (2) years of experience as an Orthoptist including teaching experience.
