Position Summary
The Assembler / Production Worker is responsible for assembling, installing, and inspecting boat trailers to ensure each trailer meets company quality and safety standards. This position works as part of the production team to manufacture high-quality aluminum and galvanized boat trailers while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble aluminum and galvanized boat trailers according to production specifications.
- Install trailer components including axles, suspension systems, brakes, couplers, wiring, lighting, fenders, bunks, rollers, winches, jacks, and hardware.
- Read and interpret work orders, assembly instructions, and production schedules.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, air tools, drills, grinders, and other production equipment.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure proper fit, function, and appearance.
- Verify that all fasteners are properly installed and torqued to specification.
- Test trailer lighting, brakes, and other components prior to final inspection.
- Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and staging materials and finished trailers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and safety practices.
- Report material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to supervisors.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Cross-train in other production departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Manufacturing, assembly, construction, automotive, marine, or trailer experience preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; heavier items with assistance or mechanical equipment.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

This position is performed in a manufacturing facility where employees work around machinery, power tools, moving equipment, and trailers in various stages of production. Safety awareness and adherence to company policies are essential.
