FTE : .9375 - 7.5 hours per day
Work Calendar: 9.5 month
Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Minimum Requirements
- General Interpreter License issued by the Arizona Commission of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ACDHH)
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation, Signed English, fingerspelling and/or other modes of
- communication with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students and adults
- Familiarity with the deaf culture and cultural diversity
- Verbal, signed, and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend
- written/graphic and oral instructions
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
- Must hold a valid Driver's license (Arizona Driver’s License required within 30 days of hire) and personal vehicle insurance
- coverage greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board
- Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees
- Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of auto insurance policy. Coverage must be valid throughout term of employment
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- National Interpreter Certification (NIC) Certified, Advanced, or Master
- Certification of Transliteration
- Certificate of Interpretation
- Comprehensive Skills Certificate (CSC)
- Valid Certificate from the National Associate of the Deaf (NAD) at level 3, 4 or 5
- Proficiency of Interpreting skills through one of the following: Minimum score of 3.5 on Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Basic knowledge of child development and language development.
- Previous experience working with youth or adults in educational interpreting and/or tutoring.
