What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dog Daycare/Boarding Facility Receptionist position at Tucker Pup's Pet Resort?
Tucker Pup's Pet Resort is one of the largest and nicest dog businesses in Chicago. We have a 10,000 square foot facility in the West Loop, and offer dog daycare, boarding, grooming, training, and retail. Our facility includes indoor play rooms, plus the nicest outdoor play area in Chicago.

We are currently ONLY seeking candidates that can work one of the following schedules:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10:30 am - 7:30 pm w/ Sunday and Monday off
OR
- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10:30 am - 7:30 pm w/ Friday and Saturday off
OR
- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6:30 am - 3:30 pm w/ Friday and Saturday off

We are immediately seeking a receptionist who can help assist our customers throughout the day.
IMPORTANT ALLERGY RELATED NOTICE:
- Potential candidates need to be aware that all staff members have significant exposure to peanut butter. It should be noted that Tucker Pup's cannot reasonably accommodate isolating an employee from peanut butter exposure.
Responsibilities include:
- Working the front desk and assisting customers.
- Answering phone calls and emails in a courteous manner.
- Scheduling dogs for a variety of services.
- Assist other staff with a variety of roles as needed, including supervising playgroups.
- Routine cleaning throughout the facility.
The most qualified candidates will have the following characteristics:
- Professionalism (both in communicating and in personal appearance).
- You must have a positive attitude and work well with other people.
- Will adhere to our dress code, which is standard for most retail businesses and is explained in our application on our website
- Responsible, reliable, and prompt. Consistently being late and/or calling off is not an option.
- Excellent grammar and spelling.
- Eagerness to learn new skills
- Proficiency in computers, but you don't need to know specific software, as we manage the business with industry specific software.
- Comfortable with selling our services in an effective manner
This is a physical job. Physical requirements include:
- Be on your feet for multiple hours throughout the day, including lots of walking
- Be able to lift dogs of at least 50 pounds in and out of a boarding suite
- Walk dogs on leash throughout hallways at various times of the day
- Walk up and down stairs, including with dogs on leash
Other important information:
- Professional experience with dogs is not a requirement, but you must have a passion for dogs.
- Responsible, reliable, and prompt. Consistently being late and/or calling off is not an option.
- Compensation: $18.30 per hour initially, opportunity for regular raises w/ satisfactory performance.
