What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Tucker Milling LLC?
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team at a high-volume feed mill. This role is essential to keeping production running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across a variety of mill equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mill equipment, including conveyors, drags, pellet mills, bagging lines, VFD-driven motors, compressors, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and diagnose root causes to prevent recurring issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance in accordance with schedules to maximize uptime and equipment longevity.
- Assist with equipment installs, upgrades, and special projects (e.g., conveyor installations, servo systems, automation upgrades).
- Work closely with operators, supervisors, and production staff to ensure safe and efficient operation of the facility.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts usage, and work orders.
- Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
- Identify improvement opportunities and communicate them to supervisors or engineering support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or manufacturing environments with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Demonstrated electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical circuits and reading schematics.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and PLC controllers effectively.
- Strong understanding of schematics, technical manuals, and systems integration for troubleshooting purposes.
- Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45.0 – 55.0 per week
