What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety & Compliance Coach position at Tucker Freight Lines?
The Safety and Compliance Coach is responsible for ensuring compliance with DOT and Tucker Freight Lines rules and regulations. The Safety and Compliance Coach will use multiple methods, technologies, and processes for guiding, coaching and improving the efficiency and safety of the organization while maintaining positive relationships with our drivers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Educate drivers on safe driving habits and compliance on a one-on-one and sometimes group basis
- Communicate with staff effectively with multiple methods on how to correct unsafe behaviors including, but not limited to, speed, hard brakes/turns, hours of service violations, ISAAC Coach scores, and overall safe driving - able to coach and have difficult conversations as needed
- Plan and implement training for drivers in need of safety and/or compliance training
- Conducts driver follow up for ongoing safety and compliance training and coaching as needed
- Work together with drivers, operations, maintenance, and other departments to ensure compliance and overall organizational safety
- Report, enforce, document, recommend and implement corrective action on safety and compliance issues with individual drivers
- Know and enforce FMCSA rules and regulations including but not limited to Hours-of-Service, compliance, etc.
- Maintains the confidentiality of the driver and company records
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of DOT regulations and Hours-of-Service
- General knowledge of the trucking industry and commercial motor vehicles
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft word, excel, etc.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and have a positive, “can-do” attitude
- Embraces teamwork and appreciates problem-solving in group environments
Salary : $40,000 - $55,000
