The EHR Educator is responsible for the development and execution of EHR training programs and delivery solutions meeting both Federal and state requirements. The training specialist provides subject matter expertise in specialized populations and person-centered care planning. The incumbent will develop training content, deliver training, and proactively identifies and diagnoses business opportunities for improvements, makes recommendations for adjustments to training programs and content. The EHR Educator will deliver synchronous and asynchronous learning events using varied media in virtual and in-person environments. The EHR Educator will employ rapid course development methodologies to quickly meet evolving market needs and will exercise classroom management evaluating learner performance. The candidate will collaborate with customer to understand their business requirements and will escalate issues to leadership when necessary. The incumbent must have the ability to measure, track, and evaluate learner and market satisfaction. The specialist should think and act globally and be aware of learning style and cultural differences that drive trainer and learner effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Determines training objectives and designs effective training materials and techniques for individuals with different levels of computer literacy.
- Assists mangers/leaders in establishing educational goals and plans regarding clinical application of the EHR for the department/clinics.
- Designs and delivers new hire training and on-going user training for improved documentation, quick familiarity with system changes and upgrades.
- Clearly communicates both written and oral presentations to a diverse audience ranging from unskilled personnel to highly trained professionals representing a wide range of computer skills.
- Quickly gains an in-depth understanding of clinical and operational workflows to develop and implement training for documentation in EHR.
- Prepares reports that documents end user’s learning with course objectives and evaluates EHR education effectiveness.
- Serves as a resource/educational consultant to assigned team to create a sustainable intuitive education program for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Works independently.
- Collaborates, networks and researches subject matter to refine and enhance clinical documentation to meet current accreditation standards and evidence-based practice standards.
- Promotes and role-models the mission, values, visions, and strategic goals of TCRHCC in all interaction with customers and patients
- Demonstrates excellent internal and external customer service skills such as friendly greeting, making eye contact, listening attentively, responding in a timely manner, showing respect and empathy, and acting as a role model for staff and peers.
- Daily rounding and provide at the elbow support to clinical staff and providers as needed.
- Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.
- Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates)
- Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee and external customer satisfaction.
